Film conversion from 8mm to DVD or hard drive

The Process:
Our entire process is geared towards digital transfer of film. Using our proprietary telecine transfer systems and methods we ensure that your film does not go through an analog source. We also only use HIGH DEFINITION to capture your film with the best possible likeness to the original film. After capturing your film, we may find it neceisary to run extra digital filters on it to enhance the image we've captured.

(film sample is of low quality for internet streaming)

to DVD: In order to preserve your 8mm, Super8 or 16mm film on DVD we utilize custom designed systems to transfer your film, digitize and author a DVD-R that is compatible with most DVD players currently on the market. Our MPEG streams for DVD are 6000kbs average, which is above normal DVD quality.....that's why we fit up to 1 hour and 30 minutes on a DVD. We now offer full MENU SYSTEMS like DVD's you buy at the store, for NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE! These menus include Chapter Marks along with a beautiful theme to complete your transfer.

to Hard Drive: After we've converted your film through our telecine systems to our hard drive in digital format, we then process your home movies with Adobe Premiere Pro, and save them in AVI format to your hard drive. This film to hard drive process acheives the highest quality results, for you to edit yourself on your home PC.

to VHS: We use the same sophisticated equipment for 8mm Film to VHS except there is no authoring procedure, and no menu system. We use high grade VHS tapes, and record only at SP to ensure the quality that we've captured on tape will last many years! Our video recorders are professional grade diamond head VCRs and film transfers to VHS are always from the original digital source and never from an analog stream.

to MiniDV: After capturing the film to our digital source, we can then output the film to a MiniDV tape for easy editing on your own PC or Mac.....or even use the MiniDV as a suitable storage medium. When we transfer to DV each film is separated by Color Bars and tone so that you can easily recognise feach individual film.

to Unauthored Mpeg: If you are looking to do your own authoring of a DVD, a suitable solution may be to have us create MPEG streams only of your video. Your software must be able to modify this type of video file in order to use these.
